Incense: A gift from the tropical rainforest

Many of the raw materials used in incense come from plants that grow in Southeast Asia.

Since ancient times, the Japanese have transformed tropical plants brought from across the sea into incense and cultivated it as part of their daily lives.

We will use actual items and footage to show you what the raw materials look like, how they are processed to make incense, and what types of incense are available after they are made.

Location: Special Exhibition Room

Exhibit contents: Display of incense raw materials, video of manufacturing process, etc.
